Epiphone is always coming out with new models of guitars. But they have many classical and vintage styles that you might want to consider. In fact, you can find a classic looking brand new Epiphone guitar at Amazon.com for $79 bucks.
One college student writes: "I sit in my dorm and play/sing some folk music to unwind after my day. So for me, everything was perfect. Everything from the price to the quality. Great product!"
It's really nice to be able to find such a well made guitar at a good price. While you certainly can get much more expensive and high quality guitars - many Epiphones are available for a few hundred (up to a few thousand dollars) - you can certainly get something to meet your needs if you are a casual player for a very affordable (some would say cheap!) price.

When you are deciding on which guitar you want to invest in, make sure you consider your current set up and available funds.
For example - will you need to save money for a guitar case, sheet music, guitar picks, strings or how-to-play-the-guitar videos?
Secondly, if you're investing in an electric guitar, what kind of amp do you have, will you be playing in a band with other instruments? Do you want to get a six string guitar or something that's not standard... My brother-in-law decided to get a 5-string base which he really enjoyed, but found that he had to re-learn to play it as it was an entirely different type of instrument.
If you're playing in front of large groups in a band or in concerts, you might want to pay more for a really cool looking guitar. If you're playing at home, though, you might want to go for a standard finish on the guitar and put the money you save toward the purchase of your next instrument, microphones or even recording/composing equipment or software.
No matter what type of guitar you get, be sure to have fun with it and let your muse help you wail away!
